JOB TITLE: Special Facilities Project Manager 1

 

OVERVIEW:

This is a Technical Facilities Engineer position to support Integrated Facilities Management (IFM) supplier management. Requires specialized depth and breadth of expertise with managing suppliers and high-tech facilities. The candidate must solve complex problems and take a broad perspective to identify innovative solutions. Lead functional teams or projects.

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

This position is to provide technical leadership in the operations, maintenance, repair, and upgrade of facilities equipment, systems and buildings. This position works under the guidance and mentorship of the more senior staff members.

 

  • Responsible for monitoring the physical maintenance of the buildings and facilities support systems to ensure maximum safety and building uptime.
  • Manage 3rd party integrated facilities maintenance service provider to ensure proper maintenance of mechanical, electrical, fire life safety, exhaust, wastewater treatment, process piping, and controls systems.
  • Organize and track action item lists for corrective maintenance, repairs, and small projects
  • Develop scope, schedule, budget (SSB) for corrective maintenance, repairs, and small projects
  • Communicate with multiple contractors; review contractors’ scope/bid; and provide recommendations.
  • Respond to business interruptions or internal customer escalations.
  • Perform problem solving, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis.
  • Ensure that systems operate to design specifications.
  • Identify safety, compliance, capacity, redundancy, and cost savings projects.
  • Manage facilities projects per scope, schedule & budget.
  • Review operation, maintenance, troubleshooting, project commissioning & acceptance related documents for facilities systems; recommend and implement improvements.
  • Coordinate with 3rd party hazardous waste management service provider to ensure safe handling and disposal of gas, liquid and solid effluents.
  • Coordinate with multiple groups (planning, construction, safety, maintenance service provider, building owners, management, etc.) to minimize facility or system downtime and business interruptions.

Requirements

· Bachelor of Science, Chemical or Mechanical Engineering degree

· Excellent at multitasking, able to respond promptly to issues, and effectively and quickly restore facilities systems

· 1-2 years working experience as a facilities engineer or project manager in semiconductor manufacturing (wafer fab) facilities

· Experience with MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, AutoCAD, SCADA (e.g. GE Cimplicity), and CMMS (e.g. IBM Maximo)

· Knowledge of local Fire, Building, and Environmental codes

· Strong analytical skills and knowledge of 8D and DMAIC

· Ability to work effectively as an individual, and as part of a larger multi-functional team

· Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Must be able to wear personal protective equipment, including protective eye wear, a hard hat, lab coat, gloves, steel-toed shoes, hearing protection, and respirators.
  • Must be able to safely access and traverse indoor and outdoor obstacles for site inspections, including climbing ladders, walking on stairs, catwalks, and other types of uneven surfaces where activity inspections are needed.
