Nature of Work

This position serves as the Outreach Coordinator for the Office of Nutrition Services (ONS), providing leadership in policy development, directing administrative processes, and overseeing personnel development and resource coordination across West Virginia. The role is central to statewide efforts in marketing, service integration, and collaboration with partner agencies to address nutrition security.

Key responsibilities include:

• Leading efforts to enhance client recruitment, retention, and program access , which directly support the funding necessary to serve all eligible West Virginia residents
• Planning, organizing, and evaluating operations or projects, including the development of long-range strategic plans to fulfill the mission of the ONS marketing and communications program
• Utilizing performance measurement tools to assess individual, team, and organizational effectiveness, identifying performance gaps, and recommending targeted improvements
• Managing branding and identity for each ONS program by establishing and communicating a distinct and cohesive presence across all services

The position applies a variety of communication strategies to promote program visibility and engagement, including:

• Promotional and informational materials
• Community events and presentations
• Blogs, media interviews, and published articles
• Website content and social media
• Public service announcements

Minimum Qualifications

Training: Bachelor's Degree from a regionally accredited four-year college or university.

Substitution: Additional experience as described below may be substituted for the required training on a year-for-year basis.

Experience: Four years full-time, equivalent part-time paid or volunteer experience in a technical or program area that is related to the area of employment.

Substitution: Post-graduate education in a field related to the technical or program area may be substituted for the required experience on the basis of fifteen semester hours for one year of experience.
